Quebec Skilled Worker Immigration

The Province of Quebec offer sponsorship for skilled workers and professionals intended to settle in their state and wish to immigrate in Canada. Quebec Nomination is an important option for Canadian Permanent Residency and has lower requirement compare to Federal Skilled Worker Program and other provisional programs. Quebec Skilled Worker / Professional applicants intending to reside in Montreal or another city in the Province of Quebec are selected based upon a different set of criteria than applicants who wish to settle elsewhere in Canada. An applicant can qualify under any occupation under the Quebec Skilled Worker category. Currently, all occupations are open and a job offer from a Canadian employer is not required to be eligible. Applicants who are successful under the Quebec Immigration sponsorship selection system are issued a Quebec Selection Certificate. With the selection certificate applicant need to apply to Canadian immigration office and can obtain permanent Residency to settle in Quebec province of Canada.

To qualify for Quebec immigration Skilled Worker / Professional applicants must score enough points under the Quebec Immigration selection system. A single applicant must score at least 49 points based on the selection criteria. An applicant with a spouse or common-law/conjugal partner must score at least 57 points.

If your education completed before 5 years of Quebec selection certificate application, you must have at least one year of continuous full-time paid work experience in your field of education or the equivalent in part-time. But if your area of education completed within 5 years of application filing, you do not require any specific work experience in the area of training.

  • Ability in English – Up to 6 points
  • Ability in French – Up to 16 points
  • Primary applicant Age – Up to 16 points
  • Financial Self Sufficiency -1 point (Cut off Score = 1)
  • Stay and Family in Quebec – Up to 8 points
  • Validated Job Offer From Quebec – Up to 10 points
  • Spouse Age – Up to 3 points
  • Spouse Education Level – Up to 3 points
  • Spouse Education Area – Up to 4 points
  • Spouse French Proficiency – Up to 6 points
  • Children – Up to 8 points

Up to an additional 6 points may be awarded upon the interview for Adaptability. With these points awarded, a single applicant must score a minimum of 55 points. An applicant with a spouse or common-law/conjugal partner must score at least 63 points.

Quebec Skilled Worker / Professional applicants must then successfully complete medical and security examinations conducted by the Canadian government in order to be granted a Canada Immigration (Permanent Resident) Visa.
