VISA Processing Applying For Student VISA
You may need to get a Student Visa to study in Australia as an international student. Some people do need a student visa, some people don't. But, most international students will need a permit that sets out the conditions of their stay here. Before you check whether you're eligible for a visa, find out whether you need one because… If the course you want to take runs for less than three months, you could apply for a visitor's visa. You must ensure your course is approved for student visa.
People who do not need a student visa or permit You don't need a visa or permit if you are a citizen of New Zealand or Australia, you hold a New Zealand residence permit, or you are an Australian resident with a current permanent residence visa or a current resident return visa.
People on short courses If the course you want to study is a single short course of less than three calendar months duration you do not need a student visa and can apply for a visitor visa or business short stay visa.
What a student visa allows Find out how long you can stay, whether you can work while studying, who we will refuse entry to, and answers to other questions about student visas and permits.
Partners and children of Australian residents and visa holders If your partner or parent is in Australia and you want to join them here and study, your permit conditions may depend on factors such as your partner or parent's immigration status.
Accompanying parents or guardiansx You can only stay in Australia on a student visa for a limited time. If you are a full fee student you may be granted a student visa for the period of your course only
Accompanying parents or guardians If you are enrolled in years 1 to 8 of a school, or you are a student under age of 18 your parent or legal guardian must apply for a special visitor's visa known as a guardian visa or you can avail a local guardian ship service from any person in Australia. A guardian visa allows your parent or legal guardian to live with and care for you in Australia.
